Chapter 24 - Animals

You must have heard that angels can talk to other living things?  Quite true.  I talk to bees, dogs, birds, fish…..all kinds.  Now that may just be a talent that I happen to have.  I do not really put any effort into developing it, but I do use it from time to time, similar to Harry Potter.

What kind of advantage to I have by talking to animals?  Less stress.  I know mosquitoes and bees won’t bite me.  I know that dogs and cats would rather that I pet them than anything else.  Also, I can feel comfortable, even while hiking through a forest or swimming in the ocean.

I used to think this concept was silly, but over the years I have noticed that it is a fun trick to keep in my back pocket.  So now I just whip out that skill when I am in the mood.

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have a ravenous dog race after you, only to stop the moment you asked him to stop?  How about a bee climbing up your shirt that flies away when you politely ask?  It is pretty cool.  I do not make much mention of this particular ability very often, but I am not going to take it for granted.  it is fun and it makes me and my family safer.

I believe lots of angels appear as pets, for the entire duration of their work, just to care for or enhance the life of whomever they are assigned to.  You see all these animals now that are chosen to be therapy animals, well, isn’t that typically the job of an angel?  That is how it seems to me.

I have owned several dogs and two cats in my life, and I can honestly say that a good percentage of my joy has streamed from them.  I love hugging my dogs and stroking my cats.  Plus, I can even feel them after they are gone.  Who really knows why they were here or if they were angels in disguise or not, but their job was definitely important.

How would you feel if you knew that the dog or cat you loved, or snake or fish or bird….was assigned to you by God?  That the animal you feed and pet and love was actually your protector?  That their powers and abilities go way past what humans usually think animals can do?  Well that is truth folks.  Oftentimes pets are assigned to care for people and other angels.  I am an angel but I have another angel protecting me here at the house, on top of all the perimeter security I have.  His name is Cooper.

Cooper is a golden retriever, and I know he is a protector because of how he treats situations.  He is not violent, he is not scary, he is just another angel that I discuss situations with and tend to rely on for comfort.  He is a wonderful dog, but he is also an old friend.  I can tell that we have worked on many missions together over time, and that he truly enjoys working with me.
