Chapter 22 - Siblings

I have two younger brothers. Darcy is 36 and Christian is 25. I am 39. Both of my brothers have no belief that anything I do affects the world in general. In fact, I would say that neither of them respects me very much and they also probably believe that I am a failure. Of course, as you might have guessed, neither of them exactly embraces faith even after a lifetime in church.

I love my brothers. I really do. They are amazing guys who get a lot done. However, I believe both of them is missing some of the key components of a powerful and happy life. They do not know how to put a relationship together. They do not know how to forgive to any relative degree. They also both seem to hang onto some form of agnosticism. My position is much different, obviously.

Maybe one of these days I will get a better feel from where they are coming from. When we were younger I had a much better relationship with both of them. As of late they seem to generally ignore me and pass up opportunities to enhance the relationships that we have. Paltry as they may be.

But I will continue to give them hugs at events. I will continue to buy them presents for Christmas and I will continue to keep up with what they are doing in life, as unimpressive as it might be.
